Confrontation II draws inspiration from Kara Walker’s impactful use of silhouettes to address complex internal and historical narratives. Serving as a detailed excerpt of my original painting Confrontation, this piece visualizes the heavy, awe-inspiring weight of being confronted by the Holy Spirit. Although cropped from this composition, the scene features a figure standing before a perched white peacock, with a second peacock bowing in reverence.

To elevate the spiritual significance of the piece, the background and braille relief take center stage, while the details of the figure are minimized into a silhouette. The textured black and white dots across the canvas represent the opening stanza of my own poem, transcribed into physical braille relief using puffy paint. By translating this visual encounter into a tactile experience, I seek to make my work accessible and inclusive to the Blind and Low Vision community.
